Andy is playing in the home of the king of rock-n-roll this week, and he did a bit of rocking himself tonight in Memphis, defeating Arnaud Clement in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
The first set was almost a replay of last night’s action, as Andy served nine aces without double faulting while breaking his opponent once. A small scare, however, with Andy facing a break point early on in the match, but he emerged with a hold of serve, taking the first set 6-3.
The second set went along in similar fashion, with Andy winning the majority of points on his serve and breaking his opponent to take the set 6-3.
He will have tomorrow off and will await the winner of the Mardy Fish/Robby Ginepri match which takes place tomorrow morning.
Stay tuned for the order of play and - Go Andy!
