Sap Open Draw Released

Andy Roddick will be heading to San Jose where he is the defending champion of the SAP Open.

In the first round, Andy has been drawn a qualifier, and in a potential second round, would face either Gambill (USA) or Lee (KOR). The other top seeds in the draw are Agassi, Haas, and Spadea, while a wild card has gone to an exciting, American junior, Donald Young.

On playing at the SAP Open, Andy commented: “Last year I came here and had lost a tough match at the Aussie Open as well. I may not have been playing my best tennis, but I felt like I competed really well to get a win last year. It definitely was a great springboard into the year.”

Andy’s first round match will be played as the night session on Wednesday. It has just been released that the qualifier Andy will be playing is Paul Goldstein, someone Andy knows and is friendly with. Paul recently won a challenger in Hawaii and has won more US pro circuit events than anyone ever. In the plus column for Andy, he has won both of their previous matches.
