The temperatures are dipping low in Houston, but action is getting heated as play gets underway today at the Tennis Masters Cup. The Red Group begins play today with top seed Roger Federer in action in the afternoon session and the man attempting to take over Andy for the No. 2 spot, Llyeton Hewitt, playing Carlos Moya in the evening session.
Meanwhile, Andy, who is set to play on Tuesday night at 7 pm, has been busy with a variety of activities both on court and off.
Yesterday, Andy got in two practice sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Coach Brad Gilbert, trainer Doug Spreen, and equipment manager Grant Morgan were all on hand.
Andy hit with Brad Gilbert in the pm session. The practice went beyond the usual drills as the two played points, with Brad coming into net frequently, giving Andy an idea as to what he can expect when he takes on serve and volleyer Tim Henman.
In the evening, Andy made an appearance at a media party honoring Deuce magazine. He along with Tim Henman and Marat Safin came to promote the magazine which bears them on its current cover.
