As previously reported, Andy’s schedule is beyond hectic. After the Thailand Open, Andy flew to California, Boca Raton, back to California for a charity event featuring Elton John, then to North Dakota for a charity event with Andre Agassi and the Jensens. Then, it was off to ESPN headquarters in Connecticut and finally back to home base in Austin, Texas on Thursday. On Friday, longing to see the airport again, Andy picked up his trainer, Doug Spreen, who arrived intent on preparing Andy for returning to competition.
Saturday was a training day with Doug, who then arranged a hitting session on Sunday with someone from San Antonio that Andy is very familiar with, his brother, John. “How good is this?” asked Andy. “How many guys can get back in the groove by hitting with their brother?”
Andy’s coach, Brad Gilbert, is expected to arrive soon as preparations intensify. Check back to andyroddick.com for the latest on Andy’s progress.
In case you missed it, Andy was featured in the September 20 issue of US Magazine as “Man of the Week.” The photo of Andy is worthy of a poster, but that is how we always feel about pictures of Andy.
