Andy Edges Past Morrison

Andy has edged out Jeff Morrison in a tight three set match, defeating his fellow American 6-2, 6-7, 6-4. At 3-1 in the tiebreak just as Andy was hitting his second serve a girl in the crowd yelled “Andy, I love you” producing a double fault, a lost tiebreak and a smashed racquet. The smashed racquet did the trick as Andy won the third set.

After the match, Andy met the Princess of Thailand and promptly said, ’she was pretty cool!” Also, Andy has a Thai body guard reported to be a great guy, so Andy is teaching him slang and has him saying “what up dog?”

With this victory, Andy has advanced to the quarterfinals, where he will take on Sweden’s Thomas Johansson. Andy and Johansson have met just once before, at Wimbledon in 2001, where Andy won in four sets. The match will be played on Friday, on Centre court, not before 3.00pm.
