Unlike Wimbledon, where there is rarely play on the “Middle Sunday,” tomorrow, New York City will will heat up with an entire day’s action at the US Open.
Andy is scheduled to play the No. 22 Guillermo Canas on Ashe Stadium for what will be his first day match of the event. The showdown will be the last contested in the matinee session, following an 11 AM start. Why? Television, my dear Watson.
Canas leads their head-to-head meetings 2-1, winning the last entounter in Rome of this year in the first round, taking Andy out 7-6, 6-1. This, of course, was following the devastating fire incident that took place in the player hotel.
