Although Andy may no longer be competing in Athens, he is still sticking around–why?
To take in the Olympic experience and to cheer on fellow Americans Mardy Fish and Taylor Dent.
While some athletes have already jetted back west to the States to begin preperation for the US Open, Andy has decided that his Olympics is still not finished.
When Andy said that he truly wanted to attend the Games to feel the Olympic spirit, meet other athletes, and to watch other competitions, it was no media ploy or public relations stunt. Andy has been and still is “for real.”
Andy has already met swimmer Michael Phelps and will try to take in some of the sites and sounds of the Games while also taking a spectator role on the tennis courts, watching the men’s quarterfinals action.
After a couple of days of rest, Andy will head Stateside to prep for the next tourney on his calendar, the US Open.
