Andy Finally Reaches Round Two

Andy Roddick is finally through to round two of the 2004 Wimbledon Championships, completing his rain delayed match today 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 over Wang.

Rain stopped play on Tuesday at 4-2 and deuce on Andy’s serve. Wednesday was a wash out, so today the players finally resumed play.

Andy kicked off with an ace to immediately delight the crowd and the rest of the first set went with serve to see Andy take the first set 6-3.

Andy, dressed in all white had a good start to the second set dictating play from the baseline and at 5-5 stepped up his game to break Wang. Andy was clearly pumped upm with a clenched fist and a “Come On” to celebrate. Andy comfortably served out the set,

Andy again was out of the starting blocks early to break Wang in the first game of the third set. After anoth pumped fist and “Come On”, Andy ran to the net to try and catch the ball in his cap…..success!!!!!

Andy was more relaxed in the third set and this showd in his tennis. So much so, he tried to sneak in an extra sit down at 1-0 in the third set! After one wild shot by Andy that lobbed up into the air and nearly landed in the first row of the stands, Andy shared the joke with the crowd, shouting “wide”!

Andy looked good in his first round match today, and will play his second round against Peya
