Andy made it through to the quarter finals of the Stella Artois Championships today with a 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-4 win over Croatian Mario Ancic. After the match Andy admitted it was a difficult match and said “Mario was playing great, I wasn”t getting many looks at his serve”, he conceded “I was lucky to sneak out a break there (in the third set)”.
In the quarter final Andy will play either Srichaphan or Dupuis. Looking ahead to that match Andy commented “both hit the ball a ton …I don’t think they”ll be coming in as much as Mario did today…maybe I”ll be able to work my way into service games a little bit more” but added that either was “going to be tough”.
Andy’s quarter final will be played second on Centre Court following Lleyton Hewitt and Igor Andreev. Play begins at 1.15pm local time.
