Congratulations to everyone who entered.
We had a record-number of poems entered, and everyone at ar.com was thoroughly impressed with all of the talent Andy’s fans have!
Andy should be very proud of his following.
We’re making a lovely book of poems that will be given to Andy, and will consist of EVERY poem entered into the contest.
So again, congratulations!
It was very hard to not only pick one winner, but just to narrow it down… we had so many good poems.
We know Andy will enjoy reading every single one of them!
And now for the winners!!!!
The first place winner goes to Krista Alice for her poem about Andy. Krista will have her choice of either two tickets to any tournament in the U.S., or two tickets and a meet-n-greet to one of three tournaments (the U.S. Open, the Nasdaq, or the Clay Courts in Houston). Congratulations Krista. You can find her poem below.
In the second place spot we had a tie! Carina Sahni and Alex Donegan. Both winners will receive a phone call from Andy. You can find their poems below.
The third place winner is Doyle Srader. He will have his choice of a signed print or poster.

Poems Below:
1.
ANDY RODDICK
This poem’s all about Andy,
now where should I start?
his amazing talent,
or his generous heart?
His skills? His thoughts? His motivation?
How he’s gained so many fans throughout the nation?
His perfect serve of the tennis ball?
his wins, where he stands proud and tall?
His determination when somethings not going right,
His loyalty to the game, never giving up without a fight?
His eyes so glowing?
his smile so sweet?
that every time I see him-
it lifts me off my feet?
unto a golden cloud up in the sky?
my spirits soaring way up high?
His dedication, his laughter, his cheer,
is all that makes me love him, through each day of the year….
I could go on and on forever, and probably name alot
of things I like about him, such as he’s really hot
But being more serious now - whenever I have a frown,
I hear his name or watch a match and it’s turned upside down.
He definitely deserves all he’s got, all this wonderful fame,
because Andy Roddick is an incredible person, the absolute “King”
of the game,
Alice, Krista

*A Tennis Player’s Heart*~
The heart of a tennis player
Just can”t be described
It’s a passion, a hunger
A need to feel alive
It’s a desire to be the best
And try with all one’s might
It’s a compassion and competition
It’s the drive and the will to fight
It’s the strongest killer instinct
To put all skills to the test
It’s the need for a challenge
To rise above the rest
Its a push beyond the limits
And an ignorance of pain
It’s a hurdle over obstacles
To focus on a gain
It’s not about the score
Or the victory, or the fame
It’s about the heart of the athlete
And the love of the game

ANDY POEM
I have a good friend,
Not normal in most ways,
But her Andy obsession,
Is her biggest yet craze.
One day it was a picture,
Now Many years have passed,
Now she has a gallery’s worth,
Of your face and of your arse!
Mandy gets her all depressed,
“oh Andy can’t you see…
You don’t need no singing Barbie,
All you need is me!!!”
She watches every match,
Every game and every set,
Until she sees you live in person,
Her wishes are not met.
When you ever lose a game,
The tears well in her eyes,
The idea of you losing,
Is a thought that she defies.
Early in September,
Her smile reached her ears,
The moment you won US Open,
She joined with you in tears.
With the Australian open coming up,
She was the first in line,
To get those god damn tickets,
She paid a hefty fine.
She attended every day,
determined for a peek,
Of the ’super spunky Andy’,
Sometime during the week..
All she wanted was a glance,
But She didn’t get a peep,
She didn’t see you anywhere,
Not even in the street.
Have a nice day,
Good luck for the year,
And a note to your sponsors,
She owns all your gear!
Donegan, Alex
