Hey all….Let’s see… what have I been up to?

Things have been going really well recently. The last couple of times I was on the court I felt really good. On to the semis against Spain, and nobody (not even Roger) beats me 12 times in a row ha ha ha….

Huge congratulations to Doug! He got engaged and we couldn’t be happier for him! I won’t steal his thunder, I’m sure he’ll let you know more when he writes in….

The week after Davis Cup was pretty much spent moving. I love my life, because one day I am representing my country in Davis Cup in front of 11,000 fans while closing out the French, and literally the next day, I am vacuuming, moving furniture, scrubbing toilets, and walking things up and down flights of stairs all day ha ha…. it really is a great balance and I am lucky to have it… but seriously, for those of you who have ever moved before, can you believe the amount of crap that is actually needed in a small place to function? That is not even counting the stuff that we want, but really don’t need at all… it’s a fun process though, and was the first time I had done it without help (besides Brooklyn of course) from a moving company of some sort… it ended up being a really fun process!!!

Then it was on to Vegas for one night for a certain Fish’s bachelor party… I think I am becoming the lamest thing ever. I was the first one to bed (who would have ever thought????) ha ha…It was great to be with all the guys completely free of anything to do with work… we don’t get many times like that so it was a good time…..on a side note we saw Ton Loc perform which was cool. I am such a nerd for 80’s tunes, so it was a great surprise when he played at the place we were hanging.

I have been trying to get my clay court legs under me in training for the last 10 days or so… I pinched a nerve in my shoulder during Davis Cup which has taken longer to heal than I expected, but it should be good for Rome …I have been doing a lot of running and off court stuff, but it kept me from getting as much court time as I would have liked. I am getting to Rome early and plan on having 3 or 4 days for practice sets when I get there, so hopefully it will be fine… I am also planning on playing a full clay schedule leading up to the French… Rome, Hamburg, Dusseldorf… hopefully this will help ha ha.

The nerd in me is at an all time high with scrabble…my friends call me the “smartest dumb kid”. I may not have gone to college but I am becoming a scrabble champion. It’s so addicting, a lot of us are playing online and I definitely used the word “za” the other day…it’s a classic!

We are in full gear with planning the next Foundation events. Some really amazing things are in the works and hopefully I’ll be able to update you soon!

Hope you all enjoy the Facebook page. I feel it’s another great way to keep in touch with all of you. Can’t believe there are over 6,000 fans! Crazy!

Thanks again for all of your well wishes on our engagement!…. Brooklyn keeps telling me how nice everyone has been at tennis tournaments when coming up and talking to her and wishing her congrats…. the tennis world really has always been such a huge part of my life, and it makes me so happy to see again and again how friendly it really is… so thanks!!!

Do I get extra credit points for saying Happy Mothers Day in advance? Love you Mom!

Will get back to you all next week with the awards …I am sitting in a Starbucks right now late for a meeting so will jot those down when I have some time in Rome….

Take care!!!!
