Andy Dominates in Dubai

Andy dominated his Dubai debut with a win over Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-2, 6-4.Andy sailed through the first set with seven aces, and converted two out of four break point opportunities for 6-2 in less than thirty minutes. Team Roddick was pleased with a strong 80% first serve percentage in the opening set.

Ferrero continued to battle using the weapons that have earned him the nickname “the mosquito” but Andy wasn’t making anything easy as the two traded holds throughout the second set. By 5-4 in the second, Andy had fired an impressive 11 aces while placing consistent pressure on the Spaniards serve. The strategy proved effective when Andy earned a match point at 5-4 and broke Ferrero for the match 6-2, 6-4.
