MONACO, April 19 (Reuters) - Top seed Andy Roddick has pulled out of this week’s Monte Carlo Masters, organisers said on Monday.
The American, who lost in the U.S. Clay Court final to Germany’s Tommy Haas on Sunday, withdrew for “non-medical” reasons.
The highest seed in the clay court tournament is now Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero, who will bid for a record-equalling third victory in the principality.
Americans Mardy Fish and James Blake also pulled out of the Monte Carlo event.
Andre Agassi and world number one Roger Federer have bypassed the tournament.
