Jan. 2008 Fan Of The Month

Congratulations to Brooke Hughes – AndyRoddick.com’s first Fan of the Month of 2008!

Here is Brooke’s entry:

“My name is Brooke Hughes, I live in Frisco,TX but recently moved to Boca Raton,FL so that I could train at the Evert Tennis Academy. I have loved Andy ever since he beat Pete Sampras. I have followed Andy’s tennis ever since then.

“I first saw him play when I went to the Houston Clay Court Championships. When he came to Frisco for a match against
Taylor Dent I was so excited!! When me and my friends heard that he was coming we decided to do something to help with the foundation especially since it was Christmas. Me and my friends Madison and Makenzie came up with $517 to give to the foundation. We gave the money to our coaches Philip and Andrew and they gave it to Andy.

“My room is covered in Andy Roddick posters and autographs and
we even custom painted my room for it to say “NO COMPROMISE” on the wall. I went to the charity exho on Dec. 9 and I knew he would be funny but I even got my friends to like him like I do (well maybe not this much). The bobblehead is on my desk next to the picture of when I met him in Frisco. I will continue to look up to Andy, watch his tennis, and support his charity until the end.

“Andy has been my inspiration for a lot of things. When I’m here in Boca training at Evert and I start to wonder if I’m crazy for giving up everything in Texas even seeing my brother and dad everyday when I look at Andy and the success he has had not only on the court but off the court that’s when I realize that it’s not crazy to be here and it will help me become not only a better tennis player but also a better person.”
