It’s that time again… Fan of the Month! For our final winner of 2007 we’ve chosen Tyler Honeycutt from Texas to be December’s Fan of the Month.
Here is Tyler’s entry:
“Hi, my name is Tyler Honeycutt and I am from Ovilla, Texas. I am 13 years old and play tennis all the time. I have been a fan of Andy’s ever since the 2001 French Open, in which he defeated Micheal Chang and ripped his shirt with his hands. I get all the Andy tennis gear I can and have a big poster of him in my room.
“I was amazed the first time I saw Andy play in person at a Frisco Exhibition against Taylor Dent. My Dad took me and some of my friends to the match. Andy came into the stands and grabbed my friend who had been heckling him (in good humor) and took him onto the court, lined him up at the baseline, and then pegged him on the ankle with a rocket serve.
The fans loved it. I noticed at the end of the match that Andy was very patient and a great sport with his fans as he signed autographs with people all up in his face. I got his autograph on his picture and put it in a frame. It is my most prized possesion.
“I follow Andy’s tennis constantly. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is check Andy Roddick.com to see if he played a match. I watch him every time he is on TV and if it is during the middle of the night, I record it and watch it the next day. On my web page I have Andy all over it, including several videos.
“Andy Roddick is my hero and I look up to him as a role model and I hope you will pick me for his Fan of the Month.”
Now that’s what we like to hear! Thanks to Tyler and many congratulations. As a prize, Tyler will receive a poster of his choice from the proshop.
