Andy will lead the Americans’ final Davis Cup charge on Friday. In Thursday’s draw ceremony, Andy was drawn to face Dmitry Tursunov in Friday’s opening rubber.

Russia’s number one, and world number 4, Nikolay Davydenko has only been scheduled to play doubles this weekend, although Russian captain Shamil Tarpischev still has the option to put Davydenko in the singles up to an hour before the match start time.

Second up on Friday, James Blake will face Mikhail Youzhny. Youzhny played a crucial role in Russia’s semifinal against Germany.

Saturday sees the doubles rubber, where ATP bloggers, Bob and Mike Bryan will take on Andreev and Davydenko. The Bryans have been instrumental to Team USA’s form this year, only dropping a set en route to the final.

On Sunday, the tie features the reverse rubbers, with Andy first up facing Mikhail Youzhny, followed by James Blake vs. Dmitry Tursunov.

Andy and Dmitry have played four times before, once in Davis Cup action in 2006 where Dmitry edged out Andy in a thrilling five set match on clay – 17-15 in the fifth set. In standard ATP tour play, Andy holds a 2-1 record over the Russian; their most recent meeting was at Queen’s Club where Andy was victorious in the semi-finals, 6-4, 7-5.
