Winston-Salem is one of two cities left in the running to be the site of this year’s Davis Cup final if the United States is the host nation.

The United States Tennis Association said today that it has narrowed its choices to Winston-Salem and Portland, Ore. The USTA is not likely to announce its choice until after next weekend’s semifinal tie between the United States and Sweden in Goteborg, Sweden.

The U.S. will be the host for the final for the first time since 1992 if it beats Sweden and if Russia beats Germany in the other semifinal. The final is scheduled for Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
