“I was there…at Indy!”

We have some new installments for the ‘I was there’ feature. This time, they’re from Indianapolis!

“I was at the first game against Alex. I had FRONT row in the VIP section and Andy always came up right were I was sitting to get his towel. He would always try to pump himself up as he would wipe off the beads of sweat like, “Make the play dude, let’s go.” It was amazing! Especially the eye contact I was able to make with Andy as well. Good luck with the remainder of the tournament Andy and I hope to see you again soon.” – Kar Lyn

“Yes…I was there when Andy made his triumphant return to tournament play since Wimbledon as he took Stadium Court in Indianapolis on Tuesday night. Andy is still in excellent tennis form. I had a seat courtside and was able to view first hand Andy’s amazing powerful forehand and rocket serves. It’s a beautiful sight to see in person. Andy rolled over the poor kid Alex Kuznetsov.

I also was able to catch Andy and Mardy Fish (aka Fish ‘n Rod) in the opening doubles match on Monday night where they soundly defeated the #1 seeds. During this match, Andy tortured a poor ball kid by returning balls away from him and the crowd laughed. This is quite humorous and was able to catch a little bit of the antics on video.

It was great to see Andy sign autographs after the match and he does a quick efficient job of it down the line. Signing all kinds of things from balls, shirts & magazines. I was happy to get an autograph last year….my goal is to get a decent close-up snapshot which I hope to get one of these days.

I did notice Andy sporting the new Red/White/Blue wristband and I feel now so out of style w/my basic blue No Compromise wristband I’ve been wearing since Wimbledon. They were giving them out as you entered and so I’m double banded. Look forward
to watching Andy progress in this tournament and look forward to reporting “I was there” from the Cincy tournament next month.” – Maryanne McDonnell
