Andy again took center court under the setting sun in Indianapolis and again was victorious, ousting Evgeny Korolev, 6-3, 6-2.
Korolev proved a resilient opponent in the first set, saving five break points before Andy was able to convert for a 5-3 lead. Andy saved his first break point and served out the set 6-3 after thirty six minutes of play.
Showing the same ferocity he played with last night against Kuznetsov, Andy immediately put pressure on Evgeny, breaking the Russian in the first game of the second set. Evgeny rallied and broke Andy to even the set at one a piece. Andy countered, again breaking the Russian’s serve and this time held for a convincing 3-1. Evgeny found his footing and held for 3-2, but Andy had his eye on the prize at 4-2, earning two more break points. Andy capitalized on the first for 5-2 and a chance to serve out the match. After a little over an hour, Andy secured his spot in the Quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-2.
