The Wimbledon seedings are always highly anticipated as the AELTC don’t rigidly follow the ATP rankings system. When deciding on seedings, one of the factors Wimbledon take into consideration is a player’s previous performance at Wimbledon. In the last four years, Andy has reached two Wimbledon finals and a semifinal, thus proving his expertise on the grass.
After winning his fourth Artois title at Queen’s last week, Andy moved up two places in the rankings, to number three. Being awarded this seeding at Wimbledon, gives Andy a great advantage, as he is only seeded to meet the higher ranked players late on in the tournament.
