Roddick beats Stepanek at Queen’s Club

[1] Andy Roddick lost only four points on his serve Tuesday, beating [2] Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the third round of the Queen’s Club grass-court championships.

The American has lost just one match in his past four appearances at the Wimbledon warmup event, winning three straight titles before losing to [3] James Blake in the 2006 semifinals.

“That felt really good out there today,” Roddick said. “Looking at the draw, there’s probably him and [4] Ivo Karlovic as the two guys you don’t want to see in the first round.”

Roddick served 12 aces and converted his only break-point opportunity in the opening set to lead 4-3 after a backhand error by Stepanek.
