Queen’s 2nd Round Preview
After having an extra day of practice on his favorite surface, Andy will take on the Czech Republic’s Radek Stepanek in the second round at the Stella Artois Championships tomorrow at 12:30pm in London, England (7:30am EST).

These two played once before and it was here at Queen’s Club in the 2005 semifinals when Andy went on to complete a hat trick, three titles in a row. Though Radek took a set from Andy, Andy took home the “W” and the ticket into the finals where he defeated Ivo Karlovic. Currently ranked #65, Stepanek was in the Top Ten less than a year ago and should not be counted. This right-handed Czech considers his serve his best shot, but Queen’s Club is where Andy hit the fastest serve in the world at 155 mph so Stepanek better have a back-up plan.

Here are more stats on Stepanek:
Birthdate: 27-Nov-78

Birthplace: Karvina, Czech Republic

Residence: Monte Carlo, Monaco

Height: 6’1’’ (185 cm)

Weight: 167 lbs (75 kg)

Plays: Right-handed

Turned Pro: 1996

Andy’s warming up his powerhouse shots as well as his game variation, and is preparing to play through the finals. Stay tuned to AR.com for the latest and behind the scenes from Queen’s Club as we have our very own Lucy and Kate Flory on site both here and at Wimbledon, so exclusives are coming your way! Go Andy!
