I have been walking around with a perpetual smile on my face since I started playing on grass… we’’ve hit at Wimbledon already, the LTA courts and spent the last few days at Queens Club.

At Queens, we stay in an apartment near Buckingham Palace …the day after Queens we’ll move to a house near Wimbledon…as always, London is treating us very well.

Still catching up on TV…got to season three of Lost and the first two seasons of My Name is Earl…I love My Name is Earl.. don’t know if it’s because I get the trailer park humor since my parents lived in one before they got married but I think the show is hilarious….I’m boycotting 24 because too many people have told me to watch it, and I will not be dominated by the man…oh and I finished season three of The Office…so good.

For the record…I had NO idea I was meant to do press at a doubles challenger…I have played 12 challengers in my career and never once did press…it was reported that I left the site in a “huff”…apparently a huff means signing autographs and taking pictures…and it’s news to me that I have a chauffeured limo? I mean, I’m fine to do press after loosing a Grand Slam final but losing first round doubles in Surbiton gets to me? No chance…it’s hard to know you have class to attend if no one gives you your schedule…a little disappointing too because my first round check doesn’t cover the fine but playing with Robby was fun.

I recently taped the Jonathan Ross show in England ….someone made the mistake of telling me you can swear on English television….I was so shocked that I made a point of dropping one when I answered the third question…yeah…you can’t swear on English television.

I just started fourth book in The Woman’s Murder Club by James Patterson…don’t let the title mislead you.

We have this game we like to play in practice, or at least I like to play…when I’m hitting overheads I’ll send a few at Doug and Jimmy when they’re at the back of the court…just friendly fire…but a few days ago Douggie was taking off his sweatpants unaware the ‘game’ had started… John hit a clean one, and worked Doug in the forehead, at the time it wasn’t really funny… but every day since we find it funnier and funnier.

I am adding a few weekly fines to the mix…Gingerisms and Johnny’s You Tube Key Words

“Gingerisms”… because Ginger wasn’t giving anyone a clear chance to win a fine, she gets her own category…this week’s…she was filling up at the gas station…drove off with the hose still in the car…somebody have to tell her miles down the road…thankfully the pump had stopped before she drove off…I have it from a good source that this has happened before…and for those of you that think I’m picking on Ginger..she jokingly suggested I give her a new category…you can’t joke with me…

Johnny’s You Tube Key Words: John’s new fascination since getting to Europe has been You Tube…he spends like two hours a day on You Tube…granted some of the stuff he finds is ridiculously funny…so every week he will be picking his favorite video and giving us the key words to search…this week’s…”Baseball Manager Flips Out”…I’d say the mock grenade toss is perhaps the best move I’ve ever seen…check it out…

Fine of the Week: I was talking with my buddy Brad from Austin ..normal guy stuff, NBA finals etc…and then Brad asked me “does everybody speak English over there?”….Yes Brad… London , ENGLAND … impossibly the dumbest question I’ve ever heard…

Butthead: Calling all Pro athletes / celebrities… just get a driver!!!!!! That’s all…just get a driver, or catch a ride if you have been drinking…I challenge the celebrity world, athletes, managers, singers, anyone who has the privilege of fame…let’s make it a week without a DUI.

Self Chuck: were staying on the second floor of an apartment complex in London…Lobby, floor number one, floor number two…the other day there were literally four relatively young people waiting for the elevator to go down from the first floor….if you are capable of walking down the stairs, one floor is not going to hurt you…wall!
