They say that the grass is always greener on the other side, but as long as the grass is green, Andy is happy.

It’s grass court season again for the month of June in London, England. As the 2007 season is just around the corner, Andy’s favorite surface and success on it deserves it’s own five minutes of fame.

Did you know…

– Andy’s first professional grass tournament was Stella Artois/ Queen’s Club in 2001? – Stella Artois is welcoming Andy back for the sixth year, having won the title with a hat trick from 2003-2005? – June 11, 2004 Andy made history by sending a 153mph serve past Paradorn Srichaphan in the quarterfinals at Queen’s Club? – Wimbledon grass, the royal lawn, supported Andy into the 2003 Semifinals and the 2005 & 2006 Finals, all three times being suceeded by Federer? – When Andy first started on tour in 2001 and 2002, he played a tournament between Queen’s Club and Wimbledon called Nottingham and made it the semifinals his first year? – There were only two times Andy played on grass outside of the UK and in the US? Did you know they were both for Davis Cup quarterfinals? In 2002, Andy won both singles against Spain in Houston, TX, and in 2006, winning both singles as well against Chile in Palm Springs, CA.Andy likes the grass court surface the best out of the four- grass, hard, clay, and carpet. While he pounds out some serves and sharpens his backhand slice, the grass awaits.
