Andy Beats Pless
Andy is through to the third round in Austria after a convincing win over Kristian Pless 6-4, 6-3.

Firmly in control of this match, Andy never faced a break point whilst securing the necessary break in each set.

Both players had a strong start, and were entrenched in a deadlock, until Andy finally created two break points at 5-4. Pless could not save them both, and thus Andy took a one set lead.

Andy’s first serve percentage was solid, and when they did go in, Andy excelled winning 88% of points on his first serve. This was particularly evident in the second set with Pless hardly getting a look in on Andy’s serve.

With the confidence of good serving behind him, Andy capitalised on a crucial break at 3-1 in the second set to steer him to victory.

In the next round, Andy will face the winner between Hyung-Taik Lee and Gael Monfils.

Andy’s back in doubles action later, so stay tuned for that update.
