Fully recovered from injury, Andy’s clay court season gets underway next week. The setting for Andy’s comeback is the stunning Foro Italico in Rome, Italy.
Andy is seeded third and has thus received a bye into the second round. In round two Andy will face either Mardy Fish, or former French Open champion, Gaston Gaudio.
The standard of quality players in Rome is such that Andy is in a very tough section of the draw. Placed in the top half, Andy is seeded to meet clay court specialist David Ferrer in the third round. Other threats in Andy’s quarter include Chela and Gonzalez.

Rome is one of the European clay court events where Andy has enjoyed some success. He reached the quarter-finals last year and and made the semifinals in 2002.
