Lacoste Signing: The Fans Views

Deanna, from Houston, and Mary from Mexico City both travelled to Austin to catch up with Andy and snag an autographed Lacoste cap. Bearing in mind Andy wasn’t there until late afternoon, Deanna and her friends arrived at 10.30am! Andy seriously has some pretty awesome fans!

After some camera issues, such as forgetting one’s memory card before seeing your favourite tennis star, Deanna told us she was finally ready to meet Andy, equipped with a working camera, at around 4.00pm. Finally getting her chance to see Andy, Deanna delightfully recalls the moment sharing with the other fans how Andy had remembered her from previous tournaments and charity events. Perhaps Deanna’s best moment? Getting through the conversation without saying anything stupid! Immediately re-joining the queue when she left the store, Deanna was able to get a photo with Andy on the second time round. Third time round (come on – she deserves if ater queuing since 10.30am), it was photos of Ken Meyerson, Andy’s agent.

Mary also had a great day out in Austin. After catching a flight from Mexico City (just for this event!), she arrived at the store at 3.30pm, around 50th in the queue. When the moment came for Mary to get her signed cap, the thing all fans dread happened: Mary froze! After a couple of friendly greetings from Andy, Mary finally found her voice. Andy really appreciates all his fans, and Mary will attest to that as Andy took time to sign and have a chat with her before the two of them had a photo. Like Deanna, Mary also rejoined the queue and afterwards told us how friendly and helpful all the Lacoste staff had been.
