RCA Tennis: Roddick Serves Notice: Indy Here I come

Andy Roddick, currently No. 3 in the world will return to Indianapolis for the 2007 Indianapolis Tennis Championships, formerly known as the RCA Championships.

The 24-year-old Roddick, who has been a crowd favorite since his first appearance in Indianapolis when he captured the 2003 crown – a feat repeated in 2004 - has a career 16-2 record on the hard courts at the Indianapolis Tennis Center. At the 2006 tournament, Roddick teamed up with fellow American James Blake for an epic final that Tennis Magazine voted “best final of the summer series.”

Despite falling to Blake, Roddick bounced back and claimed the doubles title with fellow American Bobby Reynolds. In all, Roddick gave the fans their moneys worth playing in a total of 9 matches over the 9-day event.

Roddick used last year’s tournament as a springboard to launch himself into a great summer series which saw him go 18-2 and reach the finals of the US Open. With Jimmy Connors as his coach, Roddick finished 2006 in the Top 10 for the fifth consecutive year.
