Tommy Haas is the defending champion in Memphis, and has been in exceptional form all week, defeating Spadea, Delic, Querrey and Fish to reach the final. Andy and Haas have met eight times before, with Haas winning five of the matches. However, Andy has won three out of the last four encounters.
Here are Haas’ stats courtesy of the ATP:
Birthdate: 3-Apr-78
Birthplace: Hamburg, Germany
Residence: Bradenton, Florida, USA
Height: 6’2’’ (187 cm)
Weight: 195 lbs (88 kg)
Plays: Right-handed
Turned Pro: 1996
After defeating Murray in the semifinals, Andy was pleased with his form,
“It was very satisfying, especially after last weekend. It’s a good feeling. Today I thought I did a lot better and to feel like you’re doing that well against Andy is a good sign because you normally feel the other way. But it’s a good thing.”
Andy also has a lot of respect for his final opponent, Tommy Haas,
“Tommy is tough. He’s definitely been playing better than me consistently this week.”
