San Jose

We are here in San Jose and Andy has won his first 2 rounds here.  We had a very successful Davis Cup trip with Andy picking up 2 wins and once again leading the US Davis Cup team to a victory.(only about 7 weeks till we take on Spain in Winston Salem, NC in the 2nd round).  It was a great effort by Andy and the US team.  It was also cool to see the handful of US fans that made the long tough trip to Ostrava.  It is great to have their support even if it is only a few very dedicated fans. We made the long trip (3 planes an over 20 hours) from the Czech Republic to San Jose on Monday.   It has taken a couple of days but we seem to be getting over the jet-lag.  Besides fighting the jet-lag, there is a surface transition from clay to a very fast indoor court here in San Jose.  It can sometimes be tough to just get used to moving on a different surface.  It takes a couple of matches to adjust and feel comfortable.  With all of the travel and time changes it is important for Andy to get his rest and help avoid some of the colds and flu illnesses that are out there this time of year.  So far so good here in San Jose.  Hopefully Andy can play well this weekend and then we are off to Memphis next week.
