After his win against Berdych, Andy talked to DavisCup.com about the weekend’s result and the next tie against Spain.
Andy – the US closer?
“I don’t know about that. I said before that it’s an opportunity of circumstance. I know that going in as the number one guy, I’m going to be playing first. Luckily, the Bryan’s normally give me a chance to go out and close. So I think that’s a team record, not just mine.”
Turning the match around:
“I felt like I hit the ball pretty well in the first set. He just played a great set. He came out hot, similar to the other day against James. It was good that I was able to bounce back.”
Quarterfinas against Spain.
“Yeah, very much so. I’m just glad that we get that chance. It should be fun. Last time we played them it was tough conditions in Spain. Hopefully we can do the same in America.”
