On The Rod With Lacoste #5

The final ‘On the Rod’ presented by Lacoste! Opening with some funky shots of Shanghai at night, with a bit of James Blunt in the background, Lacoste and Eurosport once again visit Andy in his glamorous hotel.Andy talks about his successful relationship with coach Jimmy Connors, the “relief” and “excitement” it’s brought to his game.Camera shot over to Jimmy who talks about the lighter side of their partnership,

“There’s more to it than just tennis, tennis, tennis. We have fun. We talk about lots of things besides tennis.”

Andy has nothing but respect for his coach, who Andy explains, was was more than a pretty decent player in his time too!

“He’s this huge superstar, this huge legend, who we look at, and we’re still in awe of.” Andy expressed.

So what about Jimmy checking out Andy’s pad in Austin?
“He’d sleep in the upstairs bedroom, shoot some pool, crack open a beer, watch the game.” Sounds like a Budweiser advertisement!

Those of you who followed Andy’s run to the US Open finals this year may remember watching the antagonising facial expressions of Jimmy Connors! Jimmy talks in the video about the stress of watching as opposed to playing.

“He lives and dies every point,” Andy agreed.

The video wraps up with a nice montage of Andy and Jimmy’s work this year at the US Open and Shanghai.
