Masters Cup Update
There are two weeks of tennis to go, and six places up for grabs in the Race to Shanghai! After a busy week in Madrid, AR.com checks in to see how Andy’s standing! It could be argued that many Masters Cup hopefuls dropped like flies last week. Davydenko, Ljubicic, Blake, Baghdatis and Ancic all had early round losses. This means that there was no movement in the top five on the Race leaderboard. Andy keeps his number 4 spot, but also maintains his distance from number 5, Davydenko. Standing at 463 points, Andy is just 16 points behind Ljubicic and 114 points ahead of number 11, Ancic.

Positions were switched between 6 and 10 in the Race though. After his run to the semifinals, Nalbandian moved up two places to 6, and Gonzalez, who reached the finals in Madrid boosted his chances of making Shanghai as he moved up three places to 9.

Many of the Race contenders are in action this week, spreading themselves out between Lyon, Basel and St. Petersburg. Andy, who does have a strong position in the Race, will have to sit back and watch whilst he rests his ankle.

Keep yourself updated on all the movers and shakers this week with the ATP, and we’ll check back in a week to see where Andy stands!
