Andy Back In Action In Vienna

On Saturday morning at the Hotel Meridien in Vienna, the draw for the BA-CA Tennis Trophy was made.

Andy, who will be arriving in Austria on Monday, has been seeded 3, and in the first round he will face a tough test against Jose Acasuso.

This will be Andy’s first trip to Vienna, and he is part of a host of top players who will be battling it out for the title. As the race to Shanghai intensifies, many other hopefuls including Djokovic, Baghdatis, Ljubicic, and Nalbandian will also be trying to get some much needed points in Vienna.

Andy has been placed in the bottom half of the draw and holds a 2-1 record over Acasuso. However the high class standard of the draw could pitch him against Richard Gasquet in round 2. The matches don’t get any easier with Grosjean, Malisse, Ferrero and home hero Melzer all floating in Andy’s section.

Andy, who has spent this last week training with Jimmy Connors in California, is feeling optimistic about his return to action this week, as he wrote exclusively in his blog to Club Roddick members,

“My next tournament is Vienna, I’m looking forward to taking the momentum of this week overseas.”
