Race To Shanghai 2006 Update
The race to Shanghai is heating up. Every week, AndyRoddick.com will bring you an update on Andy’s standing as he fights for a place in the year-end Masters Cup.Andy is currently standing at fourth in the Race. While resting after his exertions in Davis Cup at the weekend, Andy was overtaken by Ljubicic. The Croat had a good run in Bangkok reaching the final, before losing to another competitor for a place in Shanghai – James Blake.

Going into October, Andy stands with 434 points. The top ten travel to Shanghai with numbers 9 and 10 being used as alternates. The points between the those in the ten are all extremely close, so there is all to play for.

Two big points earners, Tennis Masters Series Madrid and Paris are just around the corner. All points gained from Masters Series events count in the Race to Shanghai, so there will be no holding back for those players with their sights set on Shanghai.
