Davis Cup Draw: Czech Republic
The beauty of the Davis Cup is it isn’t like other international sporting events. It doesn’t just happen every four or two years, so despite the heart felt loss to Russia last weekend, the USA now already have the next year’s competition to look forward to! At the Foro Italico in Rome the draw for the 2007 Davis Cup was made.

The USA were seeded sixth, but have drawn an away tie for their first round. The US team will have to travel to the Czech Republic in February. Hence, the Czech Republic have the choice of ground and surface.

So who plays for the Czech Republic? There is much depth in the Czech’s strong team. Their top two players, Stepanek and Berdych are both ranked inside the top 20. The Czech Republic were promoted from the zonal groups last weekend to earn their place in the world group next year.

It is another away tie for the US, but they have plenty of time to prepare for it. The dates for the weekend are 9-11th February, 2007.
