Better Late Than Ever

Hey, the below blog was written last Thursday, after Andy won over Hewitt in the US OPEN Quarterfinals. Due to a mistake, the blog didn’t get into the Club Roddick for a few days. Now it’s open to everyone, so enjoy. Better late than never right?

What a couple weeks it has been here in New York City.

First New York is a great town and the US Open is an incredible event.(the most attended sporting event in the world!!). But most importantly it has been a great run by Andy. He played a great match to beat Hewitt in straight sets. It was great to see Andy play that kind of a match in that big of a setting. The National Tennis Center was electric and the crowd was really on Andy’s side. I have watched a lot of Roddick matches the last few years and this was for sure one of the most fun I have watched.

Now it is onto the Semi-finals. The US Open is the only Grand Slam tournament with the Semi-finals on Saturday. That gives us a couple of days to get ready for the match. The tough thing is that the final is played only 24 hours later. So it will be important over the next day or so for Andy to take care of his body. We want to have him feeling good going into the Semi-final so he take care of business on Saturday.

It will be important for him to eat well the next couple of days so that he can store up the energy that he will need for Saturday and if things go well to have the energy to play 2 matches in 2 days. We will also pay attention to his body and make sure we treat anything that may be a little sore after 2 weeks of tough tennis. It has been fun for all of us around Andy these past two weeks. Winning is always fun and we are all very excited about this weekend.
