It’s back to drawing board this week for Andy as he takes the week off to prepare for his next tournament, the Franklin Templeton Tennis Classic, set to take place the week of March 1 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Andy took an early exit from Memphis, reaching the quarterfinals before falling to Swede Thomas Enqvist in straight sets. He had previously reached the finals the last two years, claiming the title in 2002.
Andy earned points 12 for the event to place 6th in the Indesit Champions Race tally with 102 points. He currently ranks 3rd in the Indesit ATP Entry System Rankings.
Stay tuned to AR.com for my interview with Doug Spreen, Andy’s new trainer—you will not regret it.
