The number one seed, Andy Roddick, was defeated in the Basel semi-finals by defending champion, David Nalbandian 7-5, 7-5. Andy lost his serve in the first game of the match, but broke back to level at 4-4 in the first set. However he was unable to stave off the Argentine and at 5-5, Nalbandian broke the American again and took the first set 7-5. The second set went with serve until 5-5, when Nalbandian again broke through Roddick’s defences, to win the match 7-5, 7-5.
Andy’s next tournament will be in TMS Paris, beginning on Monday.
