US Open: Thursday Practice

The sun has finally come out to warm up the courts and the players for the last Grand Slam of the year. As Andy won a late night match against Denmark’s Kristian Bless last night and went out for a midnight meal for his birthday, he took to the courts mid-afternoon today.Sporting a spiked hair-do, Andy strolled onto court with coaches Jimmy Connors and brother John Roddick and trainer Doug Spreen. Once he put slid on a white hat backwards, it was all business. Andy hit with friend and fellow Davis Cup teammate James Blake for about an hour on Practice Court 1. Both clad in black and white apparel, the two broke a sweat and got a tan for the first time since being in NYC.

Following a bite to eat and some down time, Andy and crew head back to their hotel for some strategizing and relaxation in preparation for Andy’s third round match.
