Birthday boy, Andy, will take on Denmark’s Kristian Pless in the second round of the US Open. The match will be an electric atmosphere as it’s scheduled for the night session on Wednesday. This will be the first meeting between the two. Pless, who came back from two sets down in the first round, to defeat Martin in five sets has been rewarded for his dramatics with a match on Arthur Ashe against an in-form and fired up Andy Roddick…and a New York night crowd!!
Pless is currently ranked 116 in the world and has won just two matches on the main tour all year. A match against Andy Roddick, on a court where the American feels much love, will be a daunting prospect…not to mention, Andy’s brimming with confidence!
“Yeah, I’m really, really confident right now. Feel good.” Andy commented after his first round victory.
