Trains won’t be the only thing you can catch at Grand Central Station on Friday in New York. You’ll be able to see three of the world’s best tennis players, including former US Open champion, Andy Roddick.
The Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station will be converted into “Center Court” for a special Babolat promotion where fans will have the opportunity to hit with the pros, these pros are Rafael Nadal, Robby Ginepri and Andy – a “Grand Slam in Grand Central!”
Eric Babolat, President and CEO of Babolat, commented: “Babolat is proud to host this event with TENNIS magazine to build excitement for tennis players and our sport. We are a 130 year old tennis specialized company dedicated to developing tennis products for everyone; to enable people of all skill levels to reach their peak and to enjoy the sport.”
Andy is provisionally scheduled to make his appearance at 12.45 until 1.45, but this could change. Babolat is very excited that he and Nadal will both be there: “Rafael and Andy are great ambassadors for our sport. Both are Grand Slam champions and tough competitors who have comported themselves with integrity, something that is very important to our family-run company. Both have been using Babolat racquets and strings since they were young and are passionate about tennis obviously, just as we are.”
Throughout the day Babolat will have plenty to entertain all the fans and media. Experts will be on hand to discuss Babolat’s new technologies and teaching pros will be doing demonstrations along with some lively, interactive events for the public. The Michelin Man will make a special appearance sporting his Babolat Team All Court shoes with the Michelin outsole. And, Babolat has invited the famous Bijou Tennis Show, featuring trick tennis shots, to entertain spectators throughout the day. And for all you budding players out there Babolat will be displaying its latest innovations and cutting edge products that are part of its full-range tennis offering.
If you’re going – have fun!
