Super Andy Contest: Part 2

Andyroddick.com’s Amy W. won the Super-Andy contest for the Most Creative Adventure, and it’s so descript with dialogue, details, and danger that she left us hanging with a “To Be Continued…” we can’t wait to continue reading.

Amy’s narrative adventure begins when the US Open trophy is stolen by an evil villain group, and the “good guys”- comprised of Andy, Bob and Mike Bryan, and Maria Sharapova- called “The Circuit” all had to make it to the finals to discover who took it. Each has their own suit, own names, and own special powers. Every superhero, though, has one weakness. The Acer-Andy’s unknowingly caused him to lose in the quarterfinal by one of the scheming evil villian’s on the tour. This “To-Be-Continued” journey ends with the team discovering who found Acer’s weakness and how they secretly used it against him.

As Amy’s already recieved her signed Andy poster, she now has her motivation right in front of her on her wall to create the second half of this adventure. Thanks for your hard work, Amy, and we’re looking forward to the conclusion. Below is Amy’s Adventure, read and enjoy the winning entry!

Today’s professional tennis circuit has a secret that has been kept for many years. Recently, however, strange things have been happening out on the tour. Last month the Wimbledon courts were scortched causing the tennis association to cancel England’s most prestigious tennis events. This month’s Tennis Magazine featured the headline, “US OPEN TROPHY GONE MISSING.” Members of the tour are all buzzing with speculation, “could this be the downfall of world tennis??” Courts around the world have been under seige and all the tournaments are in jeopardy. What will tennis become?

Meanwhile… in a basement in Boca Raton, Florida, Dr. In-Sane-Pras [based on Pete Sampras] was watching the headlines and shaking his head
in utter disbelief. “Something must be done about this!” He exclaimed! Pace the floor of his basement he thought and thought. “Finally,” he
whispered, “the time as come.” He walked over to his collection of tennis racquets hanging on the wall and spun the third one from teh left, suddenly
a secret door emerged. Dr. In-Sane-Pras entered into his secret laboratory.

He walked over to a computer station and lifted up a red phone and says “it’s time to call upon The Circuit.”

The next day…

Maria Sherapova, The Bryan Brothers, and Andy Roddick arrived at Dr. In-Sane-Pra’s house. “Why are we here?” They each asked eachother looking puzzled.

Pete Sampras enters the room. “What’s this about??” asks Andy. “I’ve called you all here today to save professional tennis as we know it,” said
Pete, “follow me.” He led the group of tennis stars to his secret lab. “As you know, alot of strange things have been happening out on the tour and many of the tournaments have been forced to cancel. I’m afraid these aren’t coincenntial accient. I fear there is evil within the rankings… an evil that must be stopped.” said pete

“so what does this have to do with us?” asked Mike.

“i’m glad you asked, ever since I have retired from teh pro tour, I’ve learned about the secret of professional tennis. Before we were greats there were legends… but not just legends… heroes, and for many decades they have kept the tennis circuit safe. Now, however, many of those heroes have moved on from their duties and it is time to call upon a new generation… you are the new generation.”

“WHAT??” explamed Maria.

“Yes. You all will become the new group of tennis heroes, known as The Circuit.”
gasps.

“Maria, you will become Volley Vixen… With a racquet so sharp it can slice through anything. Mike, Bob, you two will become the Dynamic Duo. When combined your striking force will be greater than anything man has ever experienced. And Andy, you will The Acer. Your quick speed and flaming serve will be no match for your enemies.” “Enemies?” asked Andy. “Indeed. There are a few bad seeds within the tour. Unfortunately their true identities are held secret, but you’ll need to be weary of these people, Double Fault [Williams Sisters], two sisters you have the ability to weaken powers. Drop Shot[Federer], a an agile villain, capable of out running anyone, and Top Spin [Nadal], a rotating shot that kicks up high winds… they can be anyone on the tour, but they’re the prime suspects for the missing US Open trophy.”

“What’s going to protect us from these villains?” Bob

“I”m glad you asked. all your playing attire has been altered. Volley Vixen, your tank top and skirt will give you more speed, Dynamic Duo, your
lightweight t-shirts will be resistant to wind…. and Acer, behold your new Lacoste Polo… it’s virtually indestructible. This is a top secret fiber,
specially designed by Lacoste… but like all great things, there is an equal, and opposite reaction…. the weakness to this armor will be Lycra
fibers, so beware.

…

Now that you’re suited, it’s time discuss your plan of action. The Us Open is quickly approaching the trophy must be recovered before the finals.
You’ll all have to advance to the finals in the tournament and keep a sixth sense out for any suspicious behavor. Any leads, and well have to take
action. Good luck and report back.” …suited with their new powers, The Circuit returned to their training camps and prepared for the US Open.

…(ESPN) WELCOME ladies and gentlemen to the 2006 US Open tennis championship! We’ve got an exciting tournament this year… we’ve been
covering the practice courts and have been noticing some hardcore tennis. Federer this year seems to be faster than ever. I’ve never seen a man
menouver the court so fast… it’s like he has super powers! Then there’s the Williams sisters, it seems like no opponent is a match for them; they’ve
just dominated teh warm ups. And Nadal, he’s kicking up quite a storm with his massive forehand. We’re looking at some great tennis here at the open.”

all of teh top players, including Maria, Andy, Mike and Bob all advance to the quarter finals..

Andy, equipped with his powerful serve and invincible power takes the court against Agassi.

First serve… 160 mph ace!

A NEW WORLD RECORD!!! the crowd roars in excitement.

15-0…. massive forehand winner to Andy… 30-0…. sliced volley…
40-0… ACE… game Andy…

The Acer’s powers seem to be living working… and Andy takes the match in
straight 6-0 sets.

Thanks to their newfound powers, The Circuit advances to the semi finals….

… in the locker room, Andy prepares for his match against Hewitt…

Andy walking towards the court
“Andy wait!” yells Federer
“huh?” Andy
“you forgot your blue band” Federer
“oh my No Compromise! I’ll need that… uh… thanks Roger.” Andy, walking
onto the court
“it is all my pleasure” Federer… evil laugh

during the match, Andy struggles in the first two sets. He continuously
keeps double faulting and the unforced errors keep stacking up.

“WHAT IS GOING ON??!!!?” Andy frustratedly groans to himself.
“C’MON! perhaps your time has come Andy” mutters Hewitt

“I just don’t get this. It’s like my power is gone??!!” thinks Andy.

Maria and the Bryan brothers look on, “this isn’t good… something isn’t
right.” whispers Maria.

Andy serves… NET…. second serve… OUT.

“WHHHHHHHHY????????????” Andy exlaims

Hewitt leads, two sets to none, game set match point, Hewitt

Ace. Andy falls to Hewitt

“That shoudln’t have happened. I need to be in the finals. Something isn’t
clicking.” Andy yells to himself in the locker room

enter Bob and Mike.

“Tough break man.” Mike
“I’ve let us down. We all needed to be in the finals to find the trophy.”
“Maria is still going strong and we’ve got our match in teh bag. 3 out of
four isn’t bad.” Bob
“still… we haven’t had a single lead.”
“I don’t know… don’t you think today’s match was a little odd…” Bob
“yeah… now that you mention it… I felt absolutely powerless… even with
my new Lacoste.”
“strange huh?” Mike
“very.”

…back on the courts… Maria and the Bryans advance to the finals…
before the final matches The Circuit calls on a meeting in the players
lounge…

“any leads?” Maria
“what happened to me” mutters Andy
“I’m not sure… but Andy’s match might be something” Mike
“yeah… it’s not normal for Andy to just fall apart like that, something
isn’t right” Bob
“but what?!!!” Andy
“anything odd happen before hand?” Maria
“not that I’m aware…. well… I did almost forget my NC bracelet” Andy
“hm… nothing to odd then” Bob
…pondering….
“wait a second… Andy… let me see your bracelet” Maria
…examines bracelet…
“This isn’t a rubber band!” exclaims Maria
“huh” Andy, Bob, Mike
“this is LYCRA!??” Maria
