After his very comfortable win over Rik De Voest in the first round in LA, Andy will now take on his fellow American Scott Oudsema in the second round. Oudsema, who is 20 and from Michigan, came through his first round match against Benjamin Becker in straight sets to set up his meeting with the number one seed.
Oudsema’s win in the first round was his first ever win on the ATP tour circuit. His season is mostly played out on the futures and challengers circuit, but he rose to the challenge in the first round when playing only his second ever ATP match. The highlight of his year so far has been reaching the final in a futures event in Little Rock, so this will surely be the biggest match of Oudsema’s career so far.
