Congratulations to Lacey Ferguson – AndyRoddick.com’s June Fan Of The Month!

“Not everyone gets a chance to see their hero live in person but I was lucky enough to see mine twice. I have been an Andy Roddick supporter/follower/fan since he beat David Nalbandian in the semi-finals of the US Open in ‘03. Thats one match I will never forget. Andy was down two sets to love and facing match point in the breaker of the third and somehow he managed to dig deep enough and come out on top and then go on to win the whole slam. It was absolutely amazing to watch.

A few years ago I saw Andy play in Austin with Jim Courier, Taylor Dent, Donald Young, and Lance Armstrong in a charity event. It was surreal. I was in row 1 seat 5 and about 10 feet from the court. It was an experience I will never forget.

A couple years later I was lucky enough to get to meet Andy again in Austin at the Lacoste opening at the Domain. This time I actually got an autograph and smile wink =)

No matter what, win or lose, I will remain an Andy Roddick fan for life. More than his incredible game is his charismatic personality. Whether it be in an interview, during a charity match, or just in his blog, Andy can always make me laugh. Even though he can get rather, intense, during a match his sportsmanship alone would would have earned my loyalty as a fan. Andy has so much talent still untapped, I believe he will be around and winning for a long time yet.
