London Calling: June 17th

My last blog entry from Queens! It was steaming hot in London today again…The weather has been fantastic all week!

There is nothing quite like a Tim Henman match in England…The crowd lives and dies every point. Today was no different and I for one was very sad to see Tim lose.

After re-applying even more suncream, we watched Andy’s match. James played a phenomenal game and I wish him the best of luck in the final.

Since finding a short cut to the media room, I’ve been getting there faster. But, alas, I still have not mastered the ramp.

I wrote up half my report before going into Andy’s interview. Andy as already there waiting for the press to arrive. He was disappointed to lose today, but overall was pleased with his week and is looking forward to Wimbledon. Speaking of which, Andy mused about who should get the number two seeding. He said, whilst he didn’t expect it, he would feel deserved of it if Wimbledon gave it to him.

After the interview I grabbed a quick word with Andy. I wished him luck for Wimbledon. He thanked me for coming to watch him at Queens and I thanked him for the tickets :-) Andy was very friendly and polite as always.

I had a chat with Ron Angle before leaving, he was shell shocked with Andy’s loss. But, like Andy, was getting ready to cheer on the USA tonight.

A quick thanks to Charlotte Stone, the event executive, who has been absolutely wonderful to me this week. Also thank you to the media people who were not only very helpful but also laid out some delicious food – today I scoffed a chocolate eclair!!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my blog this week… maybe we can do it again for Wimbledon!
