Three-time champion Andy Roddick rallied for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 second-round victory Wednesday over Canadian qualifier Frank Dancevic at the Queen’s Club grass-court tournament.
“I felt like I struggled a little bit early,” Roddick said. “I wasn’t totally comfortable. As the match went on, I played better and better and better.”
Looking to become the first player to win four straight titles in the Wimbledon warmup event, the third-seeded Roddick was on the defensive from the opening set. Dancevic’s powerful serves and consistent returns kept the American on the back foot.
