WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., January 13, 2004 — The USTA and ESPN has announced that ESPN2 will broadcast eight hours of the 2004 USA vs. Austria Davis Cup first round, Feb. 6-8, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The first round television coverage features six hours of live tennis on Friday and Saturday. Cliff Drysdale and Mal Washington will provide commentary for this opening round series of the 2004 Davis Cup campaign, part of ESPN’s 25th anniversary.
Friday’s opening two singles matches will begin at 3 pm ET with live coverage on ESPN2. Saturday’s doubles match will begin at noon also with live coverage on ESPN2. Sunday’s two reverse singles matches will begin at 1 pm ET with tape-delay coverage on ESPN2 airing from 6 to 8 pm ET.
