Roddick To Lead Usa In Davis Cup

US Davis Cup captain, Patrick McEnroe has announced his US team to play against Austria in their first round world group match of 2004, in Uncasville, Conneticut. McEnroe named a five-man team:

Andy Roddick
Robby Ginepri
Mardy Fish
Mike Bryan
Bob Bryan

On Monday, Tennis Austria also announced their team who would face the Americans:

Jurgen Melzer
Stefan Koubek
Julian Knowle
Alexander Peya
Captain: Gunter Bresnik

The tie will be played February 6-8, 2004 at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Connecticut.

The format of the tie is the best of five rubbers. With two singles matches on the Friday, a doubles on the Saturday, then reverse singles on the Sunday. The surface will be indoor hard court.

If the USA were to be victorious against Austria, they would next meet the winner of Australia against Sweden.
