Roddick’s big goal to hoist Davis Cup

“I don’t care if I win another match for the rest of the year, if we can hold up that Cup, I really don’t care,” Roddick said. “That’s probably the one time of the year where you can say that and be that selfless and mean it.”

Devoted to playing Davis Cup for his country, Roddick sent the United States into the semifinals Sunday by beating Chile’s Fernando Gonzalez 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-2 to give the U.S. team an insurmountable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five quarterfinal.
